The Honda LPGA Thailand is the longest-running LPGA event in Southeast Asia. Now in its seventeenth year, the tournament sponsor, Honda, wanted to inspire the future generations to pursue their dreams and maximise their potential and elevate Thailand’s Golf Industry. 72 players compete over 4 days to win a prize purse of $1.7 million in this exciting event.
Working in IMG Golf to create this campaign in-house, we designed a campaign that would be sure to stand out from it's Thai sporting event competitors.
The design style is targeted to the primary audience: Thai golf fans. They strongly support local heroes (like Ariya Jutanugarn and Atthaya Thitikul) and well-known LPGA players (such as Lydia Ko and Nelly Korda). These fans are highly connected, well-educated, and affluent and the campaign style is to reflect this whilst being inspirational to the next generation golfers.
In this project, I recreated their official logo and designed a special 15 Years Anniversary logo to mark the occasion and heritage of the event.
The golf and Thai style illustrations I designed for this campaign were utilised on merchandise as part of Thai Illustrator, Jirayu Koo's collection for the event. Featuring her colourful illustration on one side of a bucket hat, and my doodle like illustrations as a repeat pattern (alongside my 15th Anniversary logo) on the reverse. The Hat was a big hit with many of the top players wearing it on their posts on social media!
